Just because you are a busy person with lots to do everyday, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have time to stay fit and keep in shape while traveling. If you are a member of a health club it would benefit you greatly if you ask the club if it participates in any programs that offer privileges at other facilities. Guest passes to certain spa and athletic clubs are sometimes free for one day. Locate the yellow pages in your hotel room and give them a call. Excuses do not keep you fit and in shape and able to keep up with the demands of your busy life. Opportunities for you to take care of your fitness needs abound in all of your business and personal travels. If your hotel does not have arrangements with a club near your hotel, the hotel that you are staying at just might. Asking at the front desk may open your eyes to many possibilities for a workout away from home and you will find out exactly what your options really are. When traveling just remember that almost every town has a YMCA or YWCA. Lots of hotels at least have treadmills or similar machines, which are much better than simply laying in bed and watching TV during your stay. Doing some research about the place one is visiting and reading up on the destination, the culture and the places one wants to visit, makes planning the itinerary less stressful. Surely, that is something no one wants to experience and here are a few tips one can keep in mind to avoid it. Imagine planning a trip weeks or maybe months in advance and when the time comes that one gets to actually travel, for some reason, one gets sick along the way and instead of enjoying the trip seeing the sites, one has nothing to do but just rest in the hotel room instead of having fun. By doing some biking, aerobics or long walks, one is able to condition the muscles for those long tours. The best medicine before going on any trip is being in the best possible shape. You aren’t going to do anyone any good if you are flat out on your back for weeks because your cold morphed into bronchitis. If you ignore yourself, you may end up getting sicker than anyone else, and you may end up in the hospital with something worse. I know sometimes you don’t have a choice, but see if there is someone who can offer you even a little assistance. If you are a mom and you catch the common cold, don’t run yourself down trying to take care of everyone else.
